Organize your Militia Neighborhood Emergency Teams
Preparation will be critical to get through some of the rough times.. but knowledge will be of even greater value. Know how to survive in adverse conditions. Get manual devices like plows, wheat grinders, wind up radios, etc..., anything that doesn't need electricity, solar will be useful for a time but shouldn't be relied on solely. Be prepared to.... (1)live at home without electricity, running water etc... (2) live in the wilderness, when its unsafe to remain in the cities. (3)travel on foot... horse or bike. Normal transportation will be gone...(4)imagine going on a permanent camp out.... that's what to expect....
Get a minimum of three tents. One for your supplies and two for shelter. Put one tent inside of another. This is a very good idea for insulation with an air gap, or you could put your food stores in this area between the two tents, or even stuff the area with weeds or straw for insulation. You will also need tools, a very good knife, shovel and axe, rope, portable wood splitters. For wheat grinding most grinders have a bottom that screws onto something, you will need a small portable table to place that on, otherwise it will be very difficult to grind your wheat. Knowing how to make shelters from the resources you have will be critical. Collect every quilt or blanket possible as well as coats and blue jeans. Save them and patch them if you have to. Blue jeans will be worth a lot and in great demand.
Choose a geographical location with such features as streams, an elevation, or a man-made wall which would tend to mark off that particular area as a neighborhood. Choose one person as a commander to be responsible for all the civil defense activities in that area. Then choose five Junior Commanders, each of whom would have a team working under his direction. The members of each of these teams would concentrate on their team’s particular job. One team would be in charge of food and water storage; another medical aid; a third, communications; a fourth, security; and fifth, counter measures.
Food and Water
Food. Hauling a lot will be difficult. Light weight dehydrated foods or MRE's would be best, especially vegetables, along with sprouting seeds. These are very nutritious and easy to store. Salt and vitamins will be very needed especially the salt with iodine. Also oil, it is essential to assimilate the needed minerals and vitamins. In ww2 cooking oil was at a premium as you could cook roots and oil would make just about anything taste better. Knowing what things are safe to eat in the wilderness will be very needed as well, herbs, greens... etc...
We will first need to have food in storage sufficient for our needs for one year, seven would be better, and we will need water. The lack water is one of the main causes of panic in cases of emergency. Look for artesian wells and springs bubbling in many locations and surrounding counties. Go to the Safety Commissioner and County Engineers and secured maps on which we plotted these wells and springs. Each neighborhood leader received a record of the water sources.
Water. Clean water will be very scarce. Carrying water is difficult. Either make or buy a good filter, or water purifier. Portable would be best, with extra filters. If you don't have water you will die. So make sure you have the things to haul it. and purify it. Filtering it 3 times and boiling it 3 times will needed at some point. When the volcano ash is contaminating the snow. You will be using raw sources for water, and it will need to be purified.
Then assigned men with pickup trucks and fifty-five gallon drums or stainless steel milk tankers to be ready in case of emergency such as riots or earthquakes, etc. Their plan was to go to the water sources, fill up their trucks, and deliver water door-to-door on a regularly scheduled basis. They were to determine beforehand the amounts necessary for survival. Man cannot survive long without water!
Clothing. Sturdy boots, and gloves a must. All weather clothes and gear. There will be a time when it will be very cold. Plan for this, with good coats etc. Goose down is good, and there is that winter clothing that you can make. This will be good for a time, but won't hold up well if climbing rocks or standing near a fire. Jeans again will be of great value. Hats and beanies to keep off rain and sun and keep warm.
72 hr survival kit. You know what to put in these its all over the internet. Put permanent items in these like a tin cup, instead of a paper one. You can cook in tin or stainless. This kit could save your life and get you through the initial devastations.
Spiritual survival. Scripture study and prayer, hymns, will be essential to get through what is coming. They will keep us focused and in tune with the Lord. They will bring strength when all else is chaos around us. If we stay focused on the Lord he will lead, inspire, direct, feed and bless us.Medical Teams
Meds. Get a good herb book. There will be a time when meds will be very hard to get. Store some medical supplies, bandages, cayenne to stop bleeding, etc... There are a lot of alternatives to regular medical supplies.. and these will be very useful, when you can't get the supplies you need.
You are also going to need access to medical aid. Choose a nurse, doctor, paramedic, or some other person who has had training in the medical profession. Have the Red Cross personnel come in and train team members that want to be trained in rendering emergency medical aid. These people prepared a central location within their neighborhood or communities to be used as a clearinghouse for storage of medical supplies and an evacuation station where most medical problems could be handled. This is the way to control the situation, and help keep panic down.
Communication and Security ("Militia", a rose is a rose is a rose by any other name it would still smell as sweet!)
The third and fourth areas are communication and security. These areas are interrelated and of paramount importance. How many of us have children in public schools? It is a usual policy of the school, in times of emergency, for all children to be sent to the auditorium to remain there awaiting further governmental instructions. Kenneth Goff, who was a Communist agent in this country for seventeen years, testified before the American Congress that our enemies plan to take advantage of this policy to hold the children hostages in order to force the parents to conform. (The busing of children over long distances serves the purposes of behind-the-scenes planners.)
According to Mr. Goff, rioters would create civil disturbances on one side of town at ten in the morning and on the other side of town at one or two o’clock in the afternoon. The services of all the police and their auxiliaries would be required to quell the riots. While the police are thus occupied, the insurrectionists would be able to take over the schools and communication systems and blackmail the parents into submission.
Those of you who were in Viet Nam will remember the election times in 1968 when children of the village chiefs and other leaders were kidnapped. They were told that if they would not conform and take directions from the Communists, they would never see their children again. Pieces of the children of those who disobeyed were sent home in bags. That is the way terrorists control the public the world over! Criminal minds of men like Robert Williams (RAM), Stokely Charmichael, Rap Brown, Jerry Rubins and hundreds of other trained revolutionaries are planning the same terrorist activities for our country.
Now stop and think what would happen if a riot occurred in your area and your children were in school on the other side of town. What would you do? Suddenly mother realizes the danger. She jumps into the family car and speeds across town, or tries to do so. At the same time thousands of other mothers are doing the same thing. What do you think the traffic would be like? How far do you think you would get? The ensuing panic would cause utter chaos giving the government the excuse they want to impose martial law.
To preventing such events, take the team leaders and our other trained personnel who live or work closest to the school and assigned them to go to that school and get the children out. They are to place them in a secure area controlled by the citizens themselves. Then, using their own communication system prepared beforehand, they were to contact all the other groups and have them send one representative plus guards with bus or van from each neighborhood. They are to pick up the children from their assigned areas and deliver them home to their parents.
Organize a citizen's militia for times of emergency so that you will be ready to maintain law and order in your areas and to make arrests when necessary. You will be able to protect our own children should the need arise.
Countermeasure
The activities of the countermeasure team are the last to be discussed. I will relate to you some of our experiences with this team. When I first arrived in Utah, an insurrection newspaper was engaged in trying to stir up civil unrest. By means of our telephone tree we contacted the eighty-five firms who were advertising in this paper thereby causing all but two of them to withdraw their advertising. This aim was accomplished within a day and a half. The newspaper went broke.
The telephone tree, our alert system, works like this: The person starting the operation makes five local calls plus one long-distance call. Each person thus contacted then makes five local calls and one long-distance call. In a very short time it is possible to alert all the people involved in this civil defense organization. In this case we asked three hundred people to call the advertisers the first morning, three hundred that afternoon, and three hundred the next morning. Nine hundred callers contacted these advertisers and by noon of the second day there remained only two advertisers still willing to do business with this newspaper.
Another time a friend of mine, Kaylan Harper, was picked up in Laramie, Wyoming, for selling Bibles door-to-door. In Wyoming it is against the Green River Ordinance to sell anything door-to-door. In passing this un-Constitutional ordinance, the local people overrode a congressional enactment of years back making it illegal to interfere with the sale of the Bible in America, and the U.S. Constitution which states no laws shall be passed interfering with the right of contract.
Kaylan was thrown into jail and ordered either to pay a one hundred dollar fine or serve thirty days. Kaylan told them he did not have one hundred dollars to pay and wouldn't pay it if he did because his rights were being violated. He is a member of our telephone tree, so he called me in Montana to apprise me of his predicament. I called Joye Wyatt in Utah and we both called people all over the country. All of us began calling the Governor, the Secretary of State, the County Attorney, the County Sheriff, the Police Chief, and the Judge in Wyoming in addition to our own Senators from our home states. They all received dozens of phone calls within about two hours. They must have felt as if they were being watched by the whole world.
At nine that morning the Judge had my friend in Court for arraignment. He asked Kaylan which he was going to do, pay the fine or spend thirty day in jail. Kaylan replied that he'd do neither.
At three o'clock that afternoon Kaylan was called back to Court together with the arresting officer, a woman. The Judge said to the officer, "Did you actually see him selling those Bibles?"
The officer replied, "Well, no, I did not, but he came away from the door with his brief case and I asked him what he was doing and he said..."
At this point the Judge broke in with, "Don't tell me what he said. Did you actually see him selling those Bibles?"
"No," replied the officer.
"Case dismissed," snapped the Judge.
You can see that we can help one another with the telephone tree, and helping one another is what the countermeasure team is all about.
We can do something to keep unjust practices out of our own areas even though the rest of the nation allows them in their areas. There will be places that won't suffer injustice. Isaiah said that if you did not want to take up your swords against your neighbor, you'd better get up into the mountains. That means that in the mountains we are not going to take up swords against one another. We are even going to have law and order, Constitutional law and order.
Isaiah said that in the last days the wicked would destroy the wicked. If we are down there in the streets of the big cities shooting the wicked, who are we? Where do we want to be? Do we want to be in the big cities when the Insurrection begins? Are we going to stay and be a part of the destruction that is going on? Insurrectionists won't get to every mountain valley until they are very humble because they will have to climb over the mountains and walk every step of the way.
